Avarus Trio is an ensemble with a light and magical sound. Vibraphone and flute create an astral palette firmly kept together by the double bass. Nordic fairy-like soundscapes change to rhythmical moods inspired by exotic cultures. The music is a delicate interplay of composed and improvised music. The members of the trio have quite different background. The flautist Mari-Liis Vihermäe works in the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra but she is also a highly esteemed chamber musician. Heigo Rosin is an energetic and virtuoso percussionist. He is a much demanded soloist in front of many orchestras all around the world. Mingo Rajandi is a double bass player and composer writing music, playing and leading ensembles that she has created. Avarus Trio’s repertoire is mostly composed by Mingo Rajandi but they also perform her arrangements of pieces by Chick Corea, Tigran Hamasyan and Béla Bartók.
